Antique Bisque 1" Miniature Animals SET Of TWENTY-ONE (21) Game Pieces?, Germany

Description

Interesting and unusual set of painted bisque animals set on 1” bases. The set consists of 21 total figures and what appears to be the original box.
The set has 10 sets of 2 identical animals, one on a red base and one on a white base. Bases measure about 1”. Each set has a number painted on it. For example, the cats each have the number 1 painted on their sides. The numbers are painted on both sides of each animal.
Photo 2 shows the animals lined up in order from pair 1 to pair 10.
There is one animal different from the rest. It appears to be an antelope or similar type of animal laying down and it is on a black base.
Condition notes: the paint is worn on some of the animals and numbers on some are hard to read. One of the snakes is missing it’s head. One of the foxes has a chip in its snout and one of the tigers is missing a red base and one leg but it does stand up. The box has breaks in the corners of the cover.
If you happen to know anything about this set I would love to hear from you. It was purchased from the estate of Cape Cod antique collectors but had no information with it.
