Presented is an antique c. WWI sweetheart or commemorative brooch.
It depicts a scene of 2 soldiers each rowing a canoe.
Very nice detailing, down to the helmets and the star insignia on each end of the canoes.
They are made of bronze or copper (?) with a dark patina.
They are on a white metal disc with engraved background detailing.
The back has its original hinge & catch.
A highly unusual WWI era brooch!

Generally in good condition with no repairs or structural damage, the back shows several dark areas and some old polish residue.
The original pin stem is present, but dark and slightly rough feeling.
